.52 caliber, 22″ barrel marked “NEW MODEL 1863” at the breech. Lever actuated falling block percussion action. Walnut forend and buttstock bearing two U.S inspector’s cartouches on the left flat along with a sling bar and ring. The barrel showing and even gray/brown patina with nice visible address legend. The bore is dark and is showing considerable evidence of use. The receiver retains mottled case colors mixing with a pleasing gray patina. Crips stampings and smooth surfaces. Very nice wood with the usual handling marks from use and the cartouches are visible. Mechanically excellent.
