.50-70 caliber, 32 1/2″ barrel finished bright with correct ladder sight.  Converted to breechloading and Mfg. from 1863-64 rifle musket parts the lock is dated “1864” with the breechblock “1869” .  Full length walnut stock bearing the U.S. inspector’s cartouche on the left side.  Excellent original condition with some light storage marks on the wood.
