.50-70 caliber, 22″ barrel with folding ladder sight.   Falling block action converted to cartridge from percussion for the Indian War period.  Walnut forend and buttstock bearing the U.S. inspector’s cartouche.  Showing an even gray/brown patina overall with smooth metal surfaces and nice crisp stampings.  Excellent bore and rifling.
