.45-70 caliber, 27- 7/8″ barrel, bolt action with magazine located in the buttstock. Full length walnut stock bearing the U.S. “1884” dated inspector’s cartouche.  The barrel shows the VP & Eagle inspection and the receiver is marked “U.S. SPRINGFIELD -1884”.  In very fine untouched condition with the barrel retaining much of the blue, excellent wood and bore.  Scarce with only at total production of 753 rifles.
